Current Research Area

My current research focuses on tuberculosis (TB) immunopathogenesis, specifically investigating the role of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in drug-susceptible and drug-resistant TB, including the impact of HIV co-infection. My research aims to improve understanding of host immune responses and identify potential biomarkers and host-directed therapeutic targets for tuberculosis.

Future Career Aspirations

My future career aspiration is to become an independent biomedical researcher and academic specializing in infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis and HIV. I aim to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge through impactful research, mentor future scientists, and contribute to the development of innovative diagnostic, therapeutic, and prevention strategies that improve public health outcomes, especially in high-burden settings.
