Nivashnee Naicker

Dr Nivashnee Naicker, MBChB, MPH, MAS (Vaccinology) is the Head of Vaccine Research at CAPRISA with over 19 years of clinical trials experience. She has led multiple HIV and Covid-19 vaccine trials as Principal Investigator at the eThekwini Clinical Research Site since 2018. She is the current Protocol Chair of the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) 808 trial. She has a special interest in HPV and cervical cancer prevention in women living with HIV and is the lead investigator on the CASCADE Clinical Trials Network in South Africa. She is a lecturer in the Discipline of Public Health Medicine at UKZN where she is currently completing her PhD in Public Health.

Nivashnee is a member of the KZN HPV Working Group steering committee and the scientific co-lead together with Dr Maphe Mthembu (PhD) from the Africa Research Health Institute (AHRI).
