Position: Scientific Advisory Board
Sarah Fortune is the John LaPorte Given Professor and Chair of the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She is a physician scientist whose work focuses on the immunopathogenesis of tuberculosis. Her research addresses questions of drug resistance and immune protection in tuberculosis. Data from her work informs the development of new drugs, diagnostics and vaccines.
Dr. Fortune is a highly effective team builder and currently leads HI-IMPAcTB, among the largest NIH investments in tuberculosis research which integrates 15 institutions across 5 countries. Dr. Fortune serves on multiple scientific advisory boards for international tuberculosis research programs funded by the NIH and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and is on the board of directors of the Botswana Harvard Health Partnership. She is also a non-executive director of Oxford Nanopore Technologies, a genomic sequencing company.
