Current Research Area

My research focuses on HIV prevention, epidemiology, and the use of innovative analytical approaches to address public health challenges affecting vulnerable populations in Africa. My current doctoral work explores the complex interaction between structural, behavioural, biological, psychosocial, and spatial factors influencing HIV acquisition among adolescent girls and young women in rural KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.  Through the integration of structural equation modelling, geospatial analysis, and epidemiological methods, my research aims to identify HIV risk pathways and transmission patterns to support the development of targeted, evidence-informed prevention strategies.

Future Career Aspirations

My aspiration is to become a leading African public health scientist and epidemiologist dedicated to advancing research that transforms evidence into meaningful health solutions. I aim to contribute to the development of innovative, evidence-based and data-driven interventions that address major public health challenges, reduce health inequalities, and improve health outcomes among vulnerable populations. Through the application of epidemiology, biostatistics, and implementation science, my goal is to inform health policies, strengthen disease prevention strategies, and contribute to resilient health systems across Africa and beyond.
