Ross Cromarty, PhD is a Post-Doctoral Associate at the University of Minnesota in Dr Nichole Klatt and Dr Timothy Schacker’s labs investigating how gastrointestinal bacteria sequester and metabolize pharmacological drugs and Sars-Cov-2 pathogenesis in the heart.
He graduated with a PhD in Medical Microbiology from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN). He has worked at CAPRISA as a Laboratory Technician, and as a Research Assistant in the Mucosal basic sciences laboratory.
Dr Cromarty’s research interests are in HIV prevention and pathogenesis, how human microbiomes influence HIV outcomes and ways to manipulate the human immune system and microbiomes to result in better HIV outcomes.
