Prof Salim Abdool Karim is awarded an honorary doctorate in Medical Virology

In his accpetance address at the Univeristy of Free State, Professor Salim Abdool Karim, Director of CAPRISA called on graduates to bring their humanity to bear on the world. “…what we are witnessing are war crimes…where famine is being used as a weapon of war [in Gaza],”he said.
The Univeristy conferred an honorary doctorate in Medical Virology on Prof Abdool Karim for "exceptional achievements in scholarship and public service".
