Stellenbosch to bestow doctorates

Set to be honoured are actor and director John Kani; Leonard Wantche kon, the director for the Institute for Empirical Research in Political Econ omy IERPE , which is based in Benin; economist Uma Lele; epidemiologist Quarraisha Abdool Karim; disability rights activist Rachel Kachaje and Nasima Badsha, chief executive of Cape Higher Education Consortium. "SU's honorary doctorates are a way of acknowledging the remarkable work of individuals who are regarded as role models and an inspiration to Stellenbosch graduates," said SU spokesperson, Martin Viljoen. "The honorary degrees will be con ferred at the December 2019 gradua tion ceremonies and those in March and April 2020," he said.
