| Marian Swart is a trained nurse with 25 years experience in administration. She was previously
a research administrator at the University of Natal. She has extensive experience in the administrative management of grants.
Over the last six years, while employed by the Medical Research Council, she was involved in writing the administrative
components of the HIVNET grant application, the HVTN and HPTN grant application as well as the Fogarty AIDS Training Program
grant renewal application.

She has been responsible for the financial coordination and management of all these grants
ensuring that expenditure is controlled, financial reports prepared timeously and all other reporting requirements are met.
She has also been responsible for human resource management within all these grants.
