The GCP and Ethics training workshop was conducted on the 23 and 24 March by a representative from PPD (SA), Mr James Sherwoord. It was held at the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, University of KwaZulu-Natal. Topics covered were: Introduction to GCP, Protection of Human Subjects, Adverse Events/Serious Adverse Events, Essential documents and Source Documentation. Participants were from the Nelson Mandela School of Medicine, CAPRISA staff and associated projects such as AACTG and Aurum Health Research, and HVTN. There were also participants from other NIH funded projects in Botswana and Zambia.
